Lukas Geiger 8989a09853 Prefer const vs let for variables that are only declared once 
Requires that variable declarations use `const` instead of `let` and `var` if possible.

This is mostly for code readability, performance wins are debatable.

Philip Olson bc35f28f51 Paste newlines as \r 
Fix issue where non-windows OS terminals don't paste newlines correctly
into misbehaving programs.  As noted in JetBrains/jediterm#136, the
most practical solution is for terminals to handle this in their paste
logic.  In a perfect world, all terminal programs would implement
bracketed paste mode properly, but that's a lot to ask.

- translate newlines to \r which is what terminal programs expect

Repro:
- Run `ipython` (version 6.2.1)
- Copy multiple lines of text and paste into ipython prompt, e.g.
```py
print(1)
print(2)
print(3)
```
- Before: first line would paste and run, and subsequent lines are lost
- After: all lines paste into single prompt

Daniel Imms 63d63c27e7 Ensure outside selection pastes are respected 
We were resetting the selection on every auxclick, meaning outside
selections could not be pasted in when the terminal had a current
selection.
